A Short NBA Live 2010 10 Game Review For PlayStation And Xbox

This is a quick NBA Live game review for PlayStation and Xbox. NBA Live is one of Electronic Art's most well known console games. Every year, several sports games are released however NBA Live's annual edition always ends up being among the most popular. The latest version is no different, with its high tech graphics, new jerseys, and resolution, this final edition of NBA Live has garnered very positive reviews.

NBA Live 2010 featured additional jerseys, a first for the franchise. Throwback jerseys from the 1980s and 1990s were added in as well as several alternate ones for a number of teams. Using special codes, even more uniforms and shoes can be unlocked. It is unsure if every team will receive new game jerseys but two codes have been announced so far and more are likely to come. The graphics in this game received a massive overhaul. The game features quicker and smoother animations that allow for maximum play. Items like the lights and courts were designed to look very realistic. It's a bit grainy when enhanced on plasma screens but generally looks extremely well.

Other less important things like the crowd and the athletes are more detailed too. Unlike the other game editions, this latest NBA Live console game has a much better background. The audience in the stands were programmed to appear more realistic and believable. Even the athletes in general were give more detailed and personal touches like their arm tattoos, various hairstyles, and other personal accessories. The different stars in this game were designed to be more simply recognized than past editions. NBA Live 10's controls were changed slightly so that it is not essential to control the athletes every second of the game. Playing in the auto mode can end in many turnovers though. For users who desire to, it is very easy to expand the control to cover the athletes.

Game play on this year's NBA Live was made simple enough so that even someone who has never played any basketball video games will still be able to get the hang of it. Actions like passing and shooting are single button functions. Both of the PlayStation and Xbox use the main joy stick on the controllers to move the players around. It is simple to play defense as well, just position one of the basketball players in front of one from the opposing team will result in the sim automatically doing the rest. The update of the player DNA system from past games has significantly improved as well. The 2010 edition's DNA updates individual player's tendencies and attributes almost instantly. This year's game will also allow users to play real games almost as they happen in the real world. And with the NBA team's rosters and line ups updating instantly in the game, it makes for a much improved Dynasty Mode as well. This games's soundtrack was improved and changed to include more modern singers and groups. This year's game has a lot more tracks, which significantly cuts back on the repetition of songs during the dynasty mode and games. The tracks were even programmed to react to the tempo of the games to get the user more involved.

FIFA Soccer Games For XBox And Playstation - The Variations And Expansion

Football games are not exactly few and far between and they are all very similar in nature. However, the ultimate enjoyment of the game is dependent on the sum of its parts and in some cases, players will likely get more enjoyment from some features than others. The FIFA soccer games for XBox and Playstation are considered the absolute prime of football games. They have the bonus of not only having an official license from the world governing body of football, but they also feature many exclusively-licensed leagues and teams that no other game has. Published and and developed annually by Electronic Arts, the series begin in 1993, but the greatest gameplay was achieved with the later games.

FIFA 07

The first FIFA Xbox 360 game, it was an iteration of refinement. The team count was lowered in order to increase the focus on the remaining four leagues, as well as the additional national teams. The crowd also saw several improvements as it can now respond to the game's events, as well as it being local to the region. Also, there may be pockets of the crowd that are away support and will react accordingly. These crowd changes bring a lot more life into the games and have been met with a positive reaction by the players.

FIFA 08

Improvements from the previous game include 'Be a Pro Mode', which allows a player to play the match as a single player (bar goalkeeper), as opposed to the ability to swap between them. Thanks to the advancement of multiplayer in many games, online cooperative play is now included and the online portion of the game now includes interactive leagues. This allows to choose a league and team to play against a real opponent and has been improved since similar, previous features by including trick moves. Overall changes in the game mark a decrease in the speed of the game.

2008

While each FIFA game sees improvements per release of the game, FIFA 09 supposedly included 250 changes. While not exhaustive, here are some of the largest changes. The user's players now exhibit more responsiveness in many situations, such as when in control of the ball and when two players collide. The entire collision system has been thoroughly redesigned so that during the collision, the players' speed, weight and power will have an effect who comes out best in that particular confrontation. Furthering this responsiveness, the goalkeeper has also been improved to recover faster, position himself better and react more intelligently.

The weather has also seen its own overhaul as it now allows snow and rain matches in Kick-Off mode. Furthermore, depending on the stadium, night, dusk and day matches can be played. Manager mode does not feature the weather changes.

2009

FIFA 10 is the latest FIFA game available and brings less improvement, but perhaps more important ones for some gamers. The Manager Mode sees its major revision for this iteration. The user can now employ an Assistant Manager to deal with the team line-up as well as other squad-specific details. Additionally, finances are less focused on the sponsors and more on the wages dealt to them. The Manager Mode also shows news about other people's own Manager events. One exceptional improvement is the Auto-Resolve, which is no longer apparently random, but resolves a match based on each team's strength now.

The History of the Madden Curse

Madden is one of the most look-forward-to releases on xbox and PS3 every year, and this year is no exception. Madden has been on the scene for 21 years, and pretty much everyone who is a fan of football or video games has picked it up and played. Every year, the EA Sports team visits the NFL draft in order to get head-shots of the new players in their new uniforms as soon as possible. The game has become so popular that tournaments where professionals play head-to-head for loads of money have made it onto television for our viewing pleasure. There is no other anuual release of any tyoe that demands the attention of Madden -- and the devotion, as bceomes clear when thousands of people take the day off work.

You might also think that players are honored and delighted to be featured on the game's cover. Ever since 1999 when John Madden started putting players on the cover instead of himself, those players seem to either perform badly or suffer serious injury.

Last year was no exception to the Madden curse, and it made it's mark in the very first week of the regular season. For the first time in the series' history, two players graced the cover of Madden NFL 10. Defending Super Bowl Champion safety of the Pittsburgh Steelers Troy Polamalu goes head-to-head with one of the men he covered in the big game last February, Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald. Well, Polomalu got hurt in the very first game he played after being put on the cover of Madden, a medial collateral ligament sprain. Without their defensive captain, the Steelers struggled, ceding the AFC North division title to the Bengals.

You'd think that the NFL would have leraned it's leason by now. When EA Sports comes calling, it's probably in everybody's best interest to decline the offer regardless of how prestigious and financially rewarding the opportunity might be. Histroy has taught us that the negative effect of being on the Madden cover, for whatever scientific or non-scientific reason, is a real thing.

Notable instances of the Madden NFL curse:

2002: Second-year quarterback Daunte Culpepper graced the cover for 2002, but was only able to follow-up an NFC Championship appearance the previous year by missing the final five games of the 2001 season with a knee injury as the Vikings missed the playoffs with a 5-11 record.

2003: After gracing the cover of Madden 03, RB Marshall Faulk played the whole 2002 season with a hurt ankle and missed the 1,000 rushing yard mark for the first time in 6 years while his team rounded out the season with a 7-9 record, which wasn;t good enough for a playoff appearance.

2004: For the third year straight, the cover athlete of Madden suffered injury. In 2003, it was QB Mike Vick, who missed the entire season due to preseason injury. Without him, the Falcons went 5-11.

2006: Donovan McNabb was featured on the cover of Madden 06, and in week one of the 2005 season, you guessed it, Donovan McNabb suffered a hernia. It plagued ihim all season, and he eventually missed the last 7 games of the season.

That's the history of the curse. So, what will happen to this year's cover star?
